Decano voted 4-L president
DAGUPAN City –Councilor Farah Marie Decano was recently elected as president of the Lady Local Legislators League of the Philippines (4-L Phils.) Inc. during the league’s 9th national summit on January 25 at the Pearl Manila Hotel.
Decano, a lawyer and now on her third term as councilor of Dagupan, won the presidency of the league with an overwhelming 273 votes over her rival from Baguio City who got only 106.
This is the first time a Dagupeña will hold the leadership post since the founding of 4-L Philippines in 1996.
The first president of 4-L was Provincial Board Member Editha Demetria of Pangasinan.
“This is a vote for change,” said the 37-year-old Decano who also topped the elections in May 2007 and in the 2001 elections.
She said the league under her leadership will push for the implementation of the newly ratified constitution, assure transparency in the handling of organization funds, unite all lady legislators and create their own website.
The league is composed of vice governors, board members, councilors, punong barangays, kagawads and SK presidents.
Decano’s entire ticket, except one, won in the election. #
