LINGAYEN– Kazel Celeste, elected president of the provincial federation of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Pangasinan, has taken her seat as the youngest member of the 15-man provincial board.

Celeste, the 15 year-old daughter of 1st District Rep. Arthur Celeste of Bolinao town, said in her privilege speech in last Monday’s session that she feels honored to be in the board.

“I was awe-inspired into thinking that I now actually follow the footsteps of the only man I hold very dear in my heart,” she said referring to her father who was a former board member representing the Liga ng mga Barangay.

A sophomore high school student of Miriam College in Quezon City, Celeste said among her priorities are education and health for the province’s youth through a scholarship program.

She admitted, however, that she intends to attend the weekly board meetings only once a month in consideration of her schooling.

Sixth District Board Member Alfonso Bince, the eldest member of the board at 71,  noted   that house  rules provide for suspension or expulsion from the board following  four  consecutive absences of any member.#
