PYO plays concert series in Pangasinan

THE Pandaragupan Youth Orchestra (PYO), in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and Arts, will present a series of concerts in different venues within the province, dubbed as “Pangasinan Concert Series 2008”.

The concert, aimed at enhancing the enthusiasm, awareness and appreciation of classical music inthe community, is a monthly musical concert of professional classical musicians in the country to be held from January 21 to May 4 this year.

The major concert will be held January 21 at Cherished Moments School in Mangaldan where the PYO will play along with the Philharmonic Orchestra Brass Ensemble.

The PandaragupanYouth Orchestra, Inc., a non-profit organization composed of professionals, business leaders and volunteers, has organized and developed a youth orchestra from the ranks of less fortunate but talented children.

Also scheduled are: February 18 at Ednas School, Alaminos City, with Ariel Sta. Ana as principal clarinetist and Philippine Harmonic Orchestra String Quartet; March 10 at Our Lady of Manaoag Pilgrims Center in Manaoag with the University of Sto. Tomas Wind Orchetra; April 26 in Dagupan City with Renato Lucas as principal cellist and Mary Ann Espino, concert pianist; and May 4 in Dagupan City with the Philippine Pops Orchestra. #
