TESDA training center to be built in Rosales
LINGAYEN–A training center that will be operated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the second in the province, will soon be built in Rosales town.
The P35-million project, which will occupy an 8,000 square-meter area, will be funded by 6th District Representative Conrado Estrella III, who has pledged P25 million, and his brother, ABONO partylist Representative Robert Raymund Estrella, who will cover the remaining amount.
Washington Agustin, TESDA regional director, told local newsmen that the training center will serve manpower development in eastern Pangasinan.
It will have programs on welding skills, hotel and tourism training, arts, computer animation, software development and other short-term but employable skills.
The bidding for the project is set next month and opening is expected by July next year.
Agustin said the training center is aptly timed for the opening of the SM mall in Rosales (See Business section for related story).
Meanwhile, Agustin announced that TESDA is allotting about P30 million worth of scholarships for Pangasinan next year. #
