Policeman, barangay kagawad shot dead

A policeman and a barangay kagawad were shot dead in separate incidents as they were partying in celebration of Christmas.

SPO2 Gervacio Villanos, chief investigator of Balungao Police Station and a resident of Barangay San Aurelio III, was killed inside his resthouse by a hooded suspect who fired multiple shots from an M16 rifle on Christmas Eve.

Senior Inspector Gary Pascua, Balungao police chief, said investigators are still trying to establish the motive.

Pascua described Villanos, 52, as a “dedicated worker”.

The victim was hosting a Christmas party at his resthouse when the murder happened. No one else at the party was hurt.

Investigators initially recovered 16 empty shells at the crime scene.

KAGAWAD

Earlier, on the dawn of December 23, Isidro Parayaoan, a kagawad of Barangay Panacol in Aguilar town was also killed in a shooting during their barangay Christmas party.

The suspected shooter has been identified as Luduvico Domingo, 35, also a resident of the same barangay.

The motive has yet to be established by police authorities. #
