A New Year, a new home.

The construction of a brand new building for the Dagupan City Police Station is scheduled to start by late January 2008 and expected to be completed by August.

Superintendent Dionicio Borromeo, police chief, said the former site of the Philippine National Red Cross office will serve as the new location of station’s new headquarters.

The original plan was to construct the new headquarters at the station’s present site on Perez Boulevard.

Borromeo said the 1,000 square-meter lot is a much better location than their existing station, giving credit to Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. and the city council for the new site.

Borromeo said the new office will be major moral boost to their force.

Funding for the construction will be sourced from both the Philippine National Police and the countrywide development fund of House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr.#
