Nescafe Sound-Skool finals shown live on webcast

THE NESCAFE Sound-skool 2007 grand finals was shown live via web cast Saturday, November 10.

With the help of a high-speed internet connection, a PC, and a web browser, supporters and music fanatics had the opportunity to witness the search for the best college band in the Philippines today by accessing www.nestle.com.ph/nescafe/soundskool/index.html.

The finals night-cum-concert featured performances from the 13 finalists performing onstage with their mentor bands, which include some of the country’s most popular acts.

These included Imago, Sandwich, Mojofly, JR Kilat, Itchyworms, Urbandub, Hale, Sugarfree, Rivermaya, Pedicab, Sponge Cola, and Coffeebreak Island.

The finalists from Metro Manila were SOTC of the University of the East, Hotsi Patootsi of the Asia Pacific College, Hymn of Siren of the Ateneo de Manila University, and Ernsville of the University of Asia and the Pacific; from Luzon – Even of the University of Baguio, Zoom Zoom Lunacy of theUnion Christian College, and Jam Disposition of the University of the Cordilleras; from Visayas – Youth Rebellion of the Asian Development Foundation College, Lazy Susan, also of the Asian Development Foundation College and Karasak Hill 522 of the Eastern Visayas State University; and from Mindanao – Peaches of STI College-Davao, Blue Ozone of St. Vincent’s College-Dipolog and Novelista Pasta of Capitol University-Cagayan de Oro.

The top prize of P250,000 in cash, a contract from EMI Philippines, and P150,000 worth of full band set up for their school, are up for grabs.
