THE stage is set for the holding of a weekend night market in Dagupan, dubbed this year as 8Fs or the ‘Festival of Food, Fruits, Fishes, Flowers, Furnishings, Flavors and Fun’, along A.B. Fernandez Avenue corner Galvan and Burgos streets.

Patterned after the booming street night markets of Hong Kong and Bangkok which contribute significantly to their respective local economies and enlivened tourism, 8F will be held twice a week, every Fridays and Saturdays for five consecutive weekends beginning November 30.

City Fiesta executive chairman Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo said this year’s night market will treat residents, balikbayans and other visitors with an authentic Dagupan shopping experience for quality products at bargain prices.

“The vitality of the city’s trade and commerce even on the street level is the unmistakable symbol of the position Dagupan hold in this corner of the country. Expect this event to transform our street into a dining, shopping and entertainment hub after the public market, malls and other business establishments close their shops for the day,” he said.

Various goods including native delicacies and specialties, fashion items, home crafts, fruits, fresh sea foods, cut flowers, toys and other items will be on sale at the night market, to be opened from 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 am.
