DAGUPAN CITY and Sto. Tomas have been cited the “Best Local Government Units in the Luzon Central Cluster” by the Social Security System (SSS) during the agency’s Stakeholders Day held recently at La Majarica Hotel in Tarlac City.

Dr. Edwin Aguirre, executive assistant III at the office of Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr., received the award in behalf of the city.

He said Dagupan was awarded because of its active support to the SSS branch as well as its information dissemination program that encouraged employers to register their workers with the system.

The other LGU awardees are the cities of Malolos, San Jose del Monte as well as the towns on Magalang in Panpanga, Obando in Bulacan and the Science City of Munoz in Nueva Ecija.

The Coca-Cola Bo-ttlers Philippines in Calasiao and Northern Cement Corporation in Sison were adjudged as among the Best Employers in the Luzon Central Cluster.

Meanwhile, the Gulf Bank of Alaminos City, Philippine Business Bank branch in Urdaneta City and the Philippine Rural Banking Corporation in Dagupan are cited as the Best Participating Financial Institutions.—LM
