Winning schools in Milo’s Little Olympic cited
THE top 10 schools for elementary and secondary divisions and the top athletes during the recent 10th Milo Little Olympics-Luzon were honored on Thursday at a simple ceremony at the Leisure Coast Resort in Dagupan.
Baguio City National High School topped the secondary division followed by the Holy Angel University (Angeles City).
Other schools in the top 10 were the University of Baguio, St. Joseph College (Olongapo City), Lorma Colleges (San Juan, La Union), Doña Francisca Lacsamana de Ortega MNHS (Bangar, La Union), Saint Louis College (San Fernando City, La Union), La Union National High School, Olongapo City National High School, and Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (San Carlos City, Pangasinan).
In the elementary division, the University ofBaguio took the top spot followed by the Urbiztondo Elementary School (San Juan, La Union). Completing the ten were Don Mariano Marcos State University-Lab. Elem. School (Batac, Ilocos Norte), San Jose Elementary School (Bani, Pangasinan), Tamurong Elementary School (Candon City, Ilocos Sur), Hilkan Montessori (Dagupan City), Tiep Elementary School (Bani, Pangasinan), San Vicente Elementary School (Baguio City), Osiem Elementary School (Mangaldan, Pangasinan), and Bani West Central School.
Milo also honored the most outstanding athletes in both divisions.
Thousands of young athletes from the elementary and secondary schools in the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and Cordillera regions joined the various sporting events.
The competitions include athletics, badminton, chess, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, sepak, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.
Winners of the photo contest were also honored.
Milo officials led by Pat Goc Ong and Tess Bernardino, with officials from the provincial government and the Department of Education handed out the awards to the top schools and athletes.—CSR
