ALAMINOS CITY—Vice Mayor Ruben Jose of Sta. Barbara was unanimously elected chairman of the 125-man Vice Mayors League of the Philippines chapter in Region 1.

 The election, held last week at Vistas de las Islas here, was attended by vice mayors from Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.

Jose was supposed to face Vice Mayor Corazon R. Abad of Sarrat Ilocos Norte for the position, but the latter backed out at the last minute in the spirit of political camaraderie.

Abad became the chapter’s secretary-general.

 Alaminos Vice Mayor Teofilo Humilde, president of the Vice Mayor’s League Pangasinan chapter, hosted the election.

Atty. Amante Purisima III, vice mayor of San Idelfonso Ilocos Sur, was elected vice chairman.

The other officers are Ferdinand Galang of Calasiao, treasurer; Victor Marvin Maroon of Luna, La Union, auditor; Haydee Soriano of Urbiztondo, press relations officer.

Members of the board of directors are Erlinda Wenceslao of  Caba La Union, Jaime Boado Jr. of  Agoo, La Union; Virgilio Vallarta of  Infanta, Centenielo Rizal Costales of  Villasis; Mildred Elaydo of  San Esteban Ilocos Sur; Rex Morales of Cabugao, ILocos Sur; Benjamin Campano of  Burgos, and Eduardo Domingo of Laoag Ilocos Norte.—LM
