SAN CARLOS CITY– Mayor Julier Resuello, whose father was shot and killed during the campaign period for the May election, has made assurances that the city is no longer under the gun.

To show proof that San Carlos is peaceful and safe, the city government is initiating a night market starting October 15.

Since the slaying of Resuello’s father, former mayor Julian Resuello, people have been wary about being out on the streets at night.

OCT. 29 ELECTION

Resuello also allayed fears that the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on October 29 may be riddled with violence.

“I assure you the coming elections here will be very peaceful. There are only people who try to create an impression that violence may again happen here,” he said.

Resuello said he will take a neutral stance to all candidates.

The elder Resuello’s murder, along with his bodyguard’s, were the only election-related deaths recorded in the city during the last mid-term election.

The case remains unresolved and the mayor said he is hopeful that the culprits will eventually be arrested.

Resuello reported that investors have started signifying interest again to do business in San Carlos.

The mayor also noted that the city remained peaceful when he went to the United States last month for a two-week working trip to meet with San Carlenian associations in Northern and Southern California for various projects. #
