La Salette school will host Kundirana concert
THE Escuela de Nuestra Señora de La Salette will host the Kundirana Concert on December 8 at the Dagupan City People’s Astrodome.
Kundirana, the long-standing institutional choral group of the La Salle educational system, will render a two-hour concert featuring current pop hits.
The concert, a major fund raising activity of La Salette School, aims to encourage the youth to excel not just in academics but in the performing arts as well.
A press conference at La Sallete School will be held upon arrival of the group in Dagupan City on December 7, said Rex Lor, vice president for academics and development of La Salette.
A motorcade parade along the principal streets of Dagupan is also scheduled.
Before the concert proper from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Kundirana will stage a free concert at the Region 1 Medical Center where the performers will serenade patients as well as the medical personnel.
Kundirana is based at the La Salle Greenhills campus. Among its popular alumni are mainstream artists Gary Valenciano, Ogie Alcasid, and Randy Santiago.
Composed of nine members, Kundirana usually performs for La Sallian institutions to spread the message of St. John Baptist de La Salle across the country while encouraging the youth to pursue the performing arts alongside academics.—LM
