LINGAYEN–The provincial government, alarmed by the 30% delinquency rate, will seriously pursue residents who have been neglecting the payment of their real property taxes over the last five years.

Sixth District Board Member Alfonso Bince, Jr. filed a resolution and immediately approved by the provincial board on Monday, directing Provincial Treasurer Ramon Crisostomo to submit  to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan data on delinquent  taxpayers, including names and the corresponding overdue amount.

Bince said this alarming rate of delinquent taxpayers represents a significant loss to the provincial government and affects planned development projects.

Bince said they will use the data to draft and enact appropriate measures to discourage tax delinquency and to provide relief measures for the delinquent taxpayers. #
