RP’s youngest ‘dad’ is from Tayug

TAYUG–Only 19 years old, Ezra Tolete Ladio is the youngest municipal councilor of Tayug and possibly in the country.

Coming from an influential political family in Tayug, Ezra is the third of four children of former Mayor Marius and Consuelo Ladio, head teacher of the Tayug National High School.

Despite being a neophyte politician and still a fourth year student taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management at the St. Paul College in Manila, the young Ladio placed fifth in the race for the eight-man municipal council.

As elected councilor, she has to divide her time now as a student in Manila and as a town councilor here until   perhaps in March next year when she expects to graduate.

Having learned the ropes in politics from her father at an early age, Ezra decided to run for councilor to be able to continue the work of her father who has long retired from the political scene.

Her father Marius was mayor of Tayug from 1998 to 2001 and vice mayor from 1995-98.

She was still a toddler when her   father was the top politician of Tayug, rising as an opposition leader.

Spirited like her father, Ezra makes it a point that to be in Tayug to be present during the council session, then commutes back to Manila immediately to catch up with her classes.–LM
