Nerez foot race on July 7
THE rainy season may not be the best time for outdoor games but this will not stop Sr. Supt. Isagani Reyes, Pangasinan police director, from holding a foot race, a sport where almost anyone can participate.
The event dubbed as “PD Marathon”, will be run in five categories and in three different distances for male and female and with cash prizes and medals at stake for each category.
According to Tess Bernardino, race director of the event, the three-kilometer race will be categorized into six to nine years of age, 10 to 12, and 56 years old and above while the five and ten kilometers event are for 13 and 18 years old and above, respectively.
Bernardino also said a five-kilometer fun run for media and Philippine National Police personnel will also be staged and incentive gifts will be given to participants.
All the events will start and finish across the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office with organizer Nerez flagging off all the contestants.
Bernardino also said there will be no registration fee and the first 100 participants will receive a free t-shirt each. Assembly time is 5:00 a.m.
