STA. BARBARA — Mayoralty candidate General Reynaldo Velasco appears headed to a landslide victory judging from the heavy turn out in his barangay rallies.

This was coupled by bipartisan endorsements and support for him and his team from various political, civic and religious leaders in the town.

Velasco is confident he will get the majority votes of his constituents against comebacking Mayor Carlito Zaplan.

“This political exercise is a great learning experience for me as I have been able to hear up close the sentiments of my kababayans who clamor for new leadership, anchored on new politics of reform, change and performance,” Velasco said.

He said that while it is a personal sacrifice on his part to stake his name and reputation as a bemedalled police officer, he finds new fulfillment in offering himself in serving his own town and its people.
