SAN CARLOS CITY—Two followers of administration candidates here are now in serious condition at a local hospital after they were gunned down in front of the city public market at dawn of Wednesday, but the police immediately declared that the incident is not election-related.

Police Provincial Director Isagani Nerez, however, said his men have yet to establish the motive behind the shooting of Rey Palaganas, 29, and Dante de la Cruz, 30, both traffic aides and members of the Guardian Brotherhood Association.

The suspect was identified as Cesar de Guzman who is now the object of an intensive manhunt by the police.

Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition. The gunman used a Cal. 45 pistol as evidenced by three empty shells found at the crime scene.

One slug was found in the body of De la Cruz while Palaganas suffered three bullet wounds.

The victims are known supporters of Mayor Julian Resuello and his son Vice Mayor Julier Resuello. The Resuello son is now running for mayor while his father is running for vice mayor.—A.P.E.
