Technical, vocational scholarship fund launched
A P2-million scholarship fund is now up for grabs under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) Technical/Vocational/Livelihood Scholarship Program in the 4th district of Pangasinan.
The funding was equally provided by the office of Speaker Jose De Venecia Jr. and TESDA.
Ding Gomez, Project Coordinator from the office of De Venecia duly and TESDA Provincial Director Ponciano Catipon Jr., represented By Engr. Jovencio Ferrer, Senior TESDA Specialist, signed a Memorandum of Agreement on March 21 at the TESDA Provincial Office in Lingayen. On hand ot witness the signing were Councilor Alex De Venecia, Mr. Pedro Carreon, and Mr. Christopher Cariño.
Under the said MOA, TESDA is responsible for providing the free training, initial supplies, materials, venue and trainors to be used in the skills/livelihood trainings, among others.
The local government, on the other hand, through their Barangay Health Workers (BHW) or participating non-government organizations, shall identify the beneficiaries as well as establishments to be accredited by TESDA as trainors for the Free Scholarship Program as well as assists in the conduct of training programs, among others.
