Pitaki Boyz rule mountain bike challenge

PANGASINAN’S well-known cycling squad called the Pitaki Boyz shifted their tires to off road racing by fashioning out a spectacular 1-2-3-4-5 triumph in a mountain bike event held March 4 at barangay San Jose, Anda, Pangasinan.

They were led by their interim team skipper San Jacinto-born and former national team member  Reynaldo Navarro who bagged the P3,000 top prize while five-foot-three diminutive  San Fabian pedal-pusher Rene Esteban came in a close second to collect P2,000 and Bugallon promising son Renier Clauna finishing third with P1,000.

Mangaldanon Ariel Flores and Esteban’s town mate lanky Sherwin Carrera landed fourth and fifth, respectively.

There were 38 participants, mostly from western and central parts of Pangasinan and all survived the 65-kilometer grueling bumpy roads and received P200 apiece.

The race was principally sponsored by first district Rep. Arthur Celeste and CJ Ration Feeds in conjunction with the celebration of barangay San Jose’s fiesta.—JAGJr.
