MALASIQUI—Over 600 indigent patients, parents and students availed of the medical and dental mission conducted by some 40 doctors and nurses from the United Doctors Medical Center (UDMC) in Quezon City last February 11.

The mission, organized by retired police General Reynaldo Velasco, was held in cooperation with the Malasiqui Catholic High School (MCHS), which was observing its 43rd founding anniversary this year.

MCHS Director Fr. Reynaldo Romero said the theme for the medical-dental mission was “We only Dress the Wounds. God Does the Healing.”

“The school community and the people of Malasiqui are grateful to the UDMC medical mission and to Gen. Reynaldo Velasco for this blessing and opportunity to be of service to the less privileged in our society,” Fr. Romero said.

Dr. Aileen Garrido, head of the UDMC Medical-Dental Mission Team, said her group wants to convey that UDMC cares for the health of Pangasinenses in support of the health program of Velasco.

This is the second time that Velasco conducted a medical-dental mission for the people in the third district.

The first one was con ducted early last year in his hometown Sta. Barbara where over 1,000 indigent patients were served.

Velasco said there will always be ‘good Samaritans’ like the UDMC doctors and nurses and private individuals like UDMC Chairman Inatsu, and Atty. Waldo Flores, chairman of the Philippine National Oil Corporation, who are ready to extend a helping to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
