Mangaldan hosts Pangasinan table tennis clinic
A two-day table tennis clinic for coaching and training will be hosted by Mangaldan town on February 17-18 at the Macario Ydia Development Center.
According to chief organizer, Estela Tirante of the Phoenix Table Tennis Foundation, the event is exclusively for the young table tennis aficionados in the Department of Education’s Pangasinan 2 division.
The clinic will be sponsored by Los Angeles, California-based George Sanchez, president of the North Hollywood Table Tennis Club, in cooperation with the municipality of Mangaldan. Mayor Herminio Romero has been invited to grace the occasion.
Well-known former national player Prof. Oscar Santilices of the University of the Philippines will facilitate and give lectures to participants from the central and eastern parts of Pangasinan.
“Our main objective for the project is to propagate or enhance the knowledge of table tennis playing and eventually produce top players in Pangasinan 2 area,” said Tirante. – J.A. Garcia, Jr.
