Ednasian MTAP Wizards made it again

Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines, in cooperation with Metrobank and the Department of Education (DepEd), with its theme “Moving Forward through Excellence in Mathematics”, held its recently concluded Elimination Round for Elementary Level simultaneously last January 26, 2007, Friday, at the Teacher’s Hall, DepEd Division Office, Dagupan City and Grade School Central I, San Carlos City.

Ednas School – Dagupan City

Ednas School participants from grades 2 and 6: Terence Maximel Sorio, Stonio Panganiban and Shalom Ammanuel Signey; Richard Dean Clod Dela Cruz, Maria Demi Faye Rosal and Maria Louisa Villegas, fifth; Gehla Dana Marie Tumanan, Elyana Bianca Cabangon and Joyce Ann Dela Cruz, grade 4, fourth; Alessandra Ysabelle Cerezo, Muriel Louise Aquna Marie Tumanan, Elyana Bianca Cabangon and Joino and Jezreel Fame Mendoza, grade 1, third; Maria Thelma Veronica Agacita, Jan Arriane Plomantes and Geal Klariz Palaganas, grade 5, second; Joseph Ryan Rioflorido, Miguel Antonio Madridejos and Charisse Amistad, grade 3, ranked first.


Ednas School – San Carlos City

Endas School of San Carlos participants: Leanza Poquez, Jury Ann De Leon, and Maricia Gia Catindig, grade 3; Glenmar Mendoza, Jorell Jasper Fernandez and Ma. Angelica Torio, grade 4, respectively, fourth; Rubelyn Baysic, Marwell Leigh Eblacas and Jereck Rei Decena, grade 5, third; Joevi Dela Cruz, Billy Joseph David and Ignatius Carlo Lacerona, grade 6; Hannah Missey Althea Lavariaz, Zarena Balolong and Jemelle Jean De Leon, grade 2, and Jeric Miguel Bautista, Anjanelle Reyes and Tristan Paul Romero, grade 1, ranked second.

Meanwhile, the MTAP Elimination Round for High School Level was held simultaneously last January 27, 2007, Saturday, at the Teacher’s Hall, DepEd Division Office, Dagupan City and at the Speaker Eugenio Perez National Agricultural School, San Carlos City. Both private and public schools in Dagupan and San Carlos City participated in the competition.

The participants from each year level are the following: First Year: December Blanche Benitez, Jeprel Del Prado and Nichols Jay Agapito; Second Year: Terence Lucero Menor, Carolyn Serrano and Jesamyn Ferrer; Third Year: Rolando Menor, Kirby Holden Valdez and Kelsey Rhyss Galleon; Fourth Year: Marc John Menor, Daryl Marc On and Ronald Aquino. The participants from First to Fourth Year ranked first. Marc John Menor, a senior, will automatically compete for the Regional Level (Individual category) for being the top scorer.


Ednas School – Alaminos City

Last January 29, 2007, Monday, Ednas School of Alaminos, the first private school to win in the MTAP competition, competed at Central I, Alaminos City where the participants from grades 1 to 3 ranked first and grade 4 at second.

Grade 1: Esteffano Lanz Esteban, Amiea-Amrea Petaiver, and Nadine Marie Marzano. Grade 2: Kathleen Kate Suarez, Dwught Rychl Catabay and Junelda Death Cuesta. Grade 3: Diorjica Faine Ranoy, Princess Mariel De Leon and Vynz Wyll Esmende. Grade 4: Shara Mariel Fernandez, Karl Pauloh Baniqued and Yves Laguisma.

Before the written competition, the trainers from the different departments of ESD, ESSC and ESA, namely: Mrs. Susana Calicdan, Mrs. Jingle Cambay, Ms. Daphne Palisoc, Ms. Arvi Ambeguia, Ms. Rosemarie Serafica, Ms. Brenda Zumel, Mrs. Evelyn Abalos, Mrs. Lea Sabasa, Mrs. Marriane Peralta, Mrs. Jennifer Ferer, Mrs. Juvy Bancolita, Ms. Alpha Maye Tambalgue, Mrs. Ma. Venus Castro, Ms. Analiza Monderin, Mrs. Elizabeth Dela Cruz, Mr. Limuel Celino, Mr. Tomas Munoz, Mr. Nelson Cajandab, Ms. Melenie De Guzman and Mr. Joselito Tiongson, reviewed the participants rigorously to guarantee the victories. And victory it was!
