Dagupan gets lion’s share of JdV projects

A total of P662.7 million worth of infrastructure projects were built in the 4th congressional district of Pangasinan from 2001 to 2006 thru the initiative of House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr.

A report released by Engr. Rodolfo Dion of the Second Highway Engineering District showed   that Dagupan City got the biggest share of the initiative at P260.7 million.

The projects include the construction of the Pantal-Dawel Circumferential Road Phase V and VI; Undersea Pipeline and Water Distribution System from Bonuan Gueset to Barangay Pugaro; Dagupan City Fish Market; Overpass Footbridge Phase I; Bangus Fry Production Center, Haven for Street children; additional buildings for Region I Medical Center; school buildings, roads, bridges, concreting of barangay roads; drainage and canals and others.

The   other recipients of projects financed from the Priority Assistance Development Fund of De Venecia from 2001 to 2006 were San Fabian, P138.4 million; Manaoag, P114.6 million; Mangaldan, P80.8 million and San Jacinto, P68.02 million. 

Most of the projects in the different towns consisted of concreting of roads, construction and repair of bridges; farm-to-market roads and school buildings, public markets, drainage canals and others.
