LINGAYEN-Some 10,000 patients were treated and served by doctors and nurses of the Buklod Loob sa Dios (BLD) Medical Mission that came from the United States, particularly New Jersey and Washington DC.

Joe Baluyot, coordinator of the four-day medical mission that started February 12, said the BLD is a Christian community sect in the U.S. sanctioned by the Vatican and it undertakes yearly medical missions in the Philippines.

The group picked the Mayor Mariano Verzosa Memorial Hospital (MMVH) in Lingayen and the Regional I Medical as venues for their medical mission.

This is the first medical mission of the BLD in Pangasinan and according to Baluyot their previous medical missions were held in Bataan, Bulacan and other parts of Central Luzon.

Paul Verzosa, another coordinator, said the major and minor medical operations were undertaken at R1MC while the consultations were done at the MMVH.
