Alaminos barangays get new vans
ALAMINOS CITY— The city government here distributed Mitsubishi L-300 vans to its 21 barangays Monday in its continuing effort to promptly deliver basic services to the people.
Mayor Hernani Braganza said this was the highlight of this year’s traditional New Year’s call with the theme “A Commitment to Genuine Service”.
Braganza, together with Vice Mayor Teofilo Humilde Jr. and city council members, led the formal turn over, blessing and signing of deed of donation at the Don Leopoldo Sison Auditorium.
Under the new cost-sharing scheme, the city government shoulders more than half of the total cost of the vehicles while the barangay councils provide counterpart funds.
In 2004, only 19 multi-cabs were given to lucky recipients as part of the agreement with the former administration and the Association of Barangay Captains.
Compared to the first batch, the latest acquisitions are bigger, more spacious and more eye catching with its superimposed sticker of the city’s icon, including the Adventure Hundred Islands logo in line with the city’s sustained tourism promotion.— EVA
