RACHEL Arenas recently launched her community service program with long time friend and one of Philippine cinema’s biggest names, Robin Padilla, in Pangasinan.

Rachel, the only daughter of well-known philanthropist Rose Marie ‘Baby’ Arenas, the founder and chair of the charitable organization, Father Pio Lend A Hand Foundation, said she was inspired by her mother’s untiring work for the last three decades that she decided to organize a community service program which she refers to as Rachel H.E.L.Ps. an acronym for Health, Education and Livelihood for Pangasinenses. Determined to help her fellow Pangasinenses, she has already established several livelihood programs, facilitated access to basic services for the poor people through her medical missions and relief and assist programs, and provided grants for several skills-building and training opportunities to indigents, with the goal of enhancing their chances for gainful employment.

The event was kicked off by an early motorcade that started from the family’s mango farm in Nancapian, Malasiqui.

The day’s event was highlighted by the inauguration of the multi-purpose hall that Rachel built to serve as venue for all her livelihood training programs.

In addition to actor Padilla, other guests of honor included Vice Governor and Mrs. Oscar Lambino, Malasiqui Mayor and Mrs. Alfonso Soriano, Sta. Barbara Mayor Jinky Zaplan, and San Carlos Vice Mayor Ayoy Resuello.
