Two most wanted men nabbed
LINGAYEN – Two down, 18 more to go.
Sr. Superintendent Marvin Bolabola, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) regional director, said this after his men in Pangasinan arrested the province’s 8th and 11th most wanted persons this week.
Superintendent Manuel Velasco, provincial CIDG director, identified the arrested as Faustino Concepcion Jr, number 8 in the top 20 most wanted persons in the CIDG list, and Zaldy Ocay, the 11th in the list.
Concepcion is a security guard and resident of barangay Lelemaan, Manaoag town, who was earlier convicted for homicide. At large for more than six years, Flores changed his name to Genaro Flores and is still working as a security guard when he was nabbed.
Ocay of Poblacion in Bayambang was charged with homicide and has been in hiding since 1995.
The CIDG operatives also presented to the media Ramil Nacar, 38, of barangay San Miguel, Calasiao town who was caught for possession of 14 sachets of dried marijuana leaves.
Bolabola lauded his men in Pangasinan for their significant accomplishments, saying, “they can now give justice to their victims.”
He said that when he assumed as Ilocos CIDG chief on September 7, he gave a “tall order” to arrest the top 20 most wanted persons in their area until December 30.
He noted that in Region 1, Pangasinan CIDG continues to lead in terms of accomplishments and administrative operations and expressed hope Pangasinan CIDG will have a back-to-back national award next year as the country’s outstanding CIDG unit.
Loose Firearms
Meanwhile, by virtue of a search warrant, the provincial police office operatives led by Superintendent Noli Taliño, deputy provincial director for operations and intelligence officer, in coordination with Mangatarem police confiscated various firearms and ammunitions as part of their campaign against loose firearms.
Seized from the residence of Rogelio Ramos, a retired Philippine Navy, were unlicensed firearms including one long rifle 22, one caliber .45, one caliber 22 revolver, one 25 caliber pistol and one hand grenade.
Also confiscated from the residence of one Fernando Ayad was one caliber .38 and assorted ammunitions. Both are from barangay Soson Ongkit, Mangatarem. – EVA
