Traffic re-routing in Dagupan
TO avert traffic congestion during the observance of All Saint’s Day on Nov. 1, a traffic-rerouting scheme will be implemented in the city, the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) announced.
A no-parking rule will be applied on both sides of Burgos Street, which will be opened to two-way traffic from the junction to the office of the National Bureau of Investigation.
It will be a one-way traffic on that street from the corner of AB Fernandez Avenue to corner Rivera Street. One-way traffic will also be in effect in Burgos Street extension, from Rivera Street up to the junction of Perez Blvd and Tapuac road.
In Careenan, there will be a one-way traffic in a north-to-south direction. A no-parking rule will also be in effect here.
The Poolside (tennis court) will be designated as parking area.
All west- and south-bound public buses and jeepneys (CSI-Lucao, Lingayen-Sual-Dagupan routes) from AB Fernandez Avenue will have to turn left at Zamora Street, exiting Perez Boulevard towards Tapuac Lucao Road to their point of destination from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Meanwhile, all east, north- and south-bound passenger jeepneys from AB Fernandez Avenue (Salisay, Bolosan, Tambac, Downtown and Bonuan, San Carlos, Malasiqui, Sta. Barbara, Calasiao, Urdaneta routes) will have to turn left to Galvan Street exiting Perez Boulevard towards the east and south directions from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Along AB Fernandez Avenue, the left lane will be designated for all public utility vehicles, except tricycles, while the right lane will be for all private vehicles and tricycles.
Bonifacio Street will be closed to all types of vehicles and will be for pedestrian use only.
Amado Street will be a one-way flow from the corner of Careenan Street to the corner of Burgos Street extension.
Tapuac-Malued road will be two-way.
Rivera Street will also be open to two-way traffic and strictly no parking on both sides from the corner of Burgos Street to the corner of Galvan Street.
Zamora Street will be one-way traffic from the corner of AB Fernandez Avenue to the corner Perez Blvd. in a north-to-south direction.
There will be one-way traffic on Ayusip road, Bonuan Boquig, from Snow White up to Bonuan cemetery in a south-to-north direction.
There will be no change in traffic route in all other streets.
POSO chief Robert Erfe Mejia said his office, in tandem with the Dagupan Police, will strictly implement the plan to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the holiday.
He added the provisions on coding, route violation and trip cutting per city ordinance 1848-2005 will be temporarily lifted on Nov. 1.
Tricycles-for-hire will also be allowed to ply the main thoroughfares that day. — AQL
