3rd district bikefest set October 29
THE province’s premier professional and amateur cyclists will hit the national roads anew on October 29 and ready to traverse the six towns of the third district of Pangasinan twice with huge cash prizes and trophies up for grabs.
Dubbed as the “Victorey Tour de Tercero Distrito,” the bikefest is a project of former NCRPO chief Gen. Reynaldo Velasco, a native son of Sta. Barbara town.
According to Velasco, the race will start and end at his town Sta. Barbara passing the municipalities of Malasiqui, Bayambang, Basista, San Carlos City, Calasiao, Mapandan, back to Sta. Barbara, then Malasiqui again, Bayambang, Basista, San Carlos City, Calasiao, Mapandan, then back to Sta. Barbara anew for the finish with an approximate distance of 168 kilometers.
The champion will receive P10,000 plus trophy. First and second runners-up to bag P8,000 and P6,000 plus trophy each, respectively. Fourth placer pockets P4,000 while fifth finisher will be awarded P2,000.
Sixth to tenth placers will earn P1,000 each and 11th to 20th placers net P500 apiece.
All survivors will be given an incentive amount of P200 each.
“We want to create more opportunities for our local cyclists improve their riding skills for their future big races,” said Velasco.
The flat and well-paved trek road battle pedal-by-pedal account will be aired live over Aksyon Radio Pangasinan 1161 KHz am.
