Urduja releases P67 million for livelihood projects
LINGAYEN – Some 234 organizations with 8,945 members have already received P67 million worth of livelihood assistance from the provincial government.
Luz Muego, provincial population officer and in charge of the Provincial Livelihood Assistance Program and Gender Development Program, said these groups are now engaged in various income generating projects.
These include hog fattening, commodity trading, poultry raising, bamboo craft, fruit and vegetable processing, leather craft, retailing or sari-sari store business, fish vending, goat breeding and trading and furniture-making.
Gov. Victor Agbayani said the provincial government continues to provide the less privileged sector of the community broader and better opportunities to be more productive and self-sufficient.
Among the beneficiaries are the women’s associations in Labrador, Urbiztondo, San Carlos City, Mangaldan, Villasis, Balungao, Bayambang, Infanta, Sual, Aguilar, Binmaley, Bayambang, Manaoag, Binalonan; San Nicolas, San Jacinto, Laoac and Alcala.

The Women’s Unity for Progress in Mapandan; Kapit- Bisig Women’s Association in Basista, Samahang Kababaihan ng Songkoy, Calasiao; Dorongan Punta, Mangatarem; FloresianWomen’s Association, San Manuel; Hacienda, Bugallon; Oltama, Urdaneta City; Amamperez, Villasis; Bangan-Oda, Agno; Lungao, San Nicolas and others.
