More groups receive financial assistance
LINGAYEN–Gov. Victor Agbayani recently distributed checks to various organizations to help them establish livelihood projects that will produce goods and jobs.
Luz Muego, provincial population officer and Livelihood and Enterprise Assistance Program (LRAP) manager, said the provincial government was joined by the Land Bank of the Philippines and other agencies in assisting these organizations.
A total of P455,500 was given to six organizations with 116 members for their livelihood projects.
Among the recent recipients were the Franciscan Women’s Association of Bugallon, Quinaoayanan Women’s Association of Bani, Ambalangan Dalin Women’s Association ofSan Fabian, Dorongan Women’s Association of Mangatarem, and Directo Shining Star Women’s Association in Umingan.
This was in addition to the P50,000 given under the Integrated Small Business Development Program in San Nicolas.
The livelihood projects to be put up by these organizations include hog fattening, commodity trading and furniture-making.
Gov. Agbayani explained that the livelihood assistance was intended to improve the quality of life of the members of these organizations by providing them income-generating resources, better employment opportunities and improved social services.
