MALASIQUI – Newly installed Police Chief P/Supt Harri Fama issued an ultimatum to operators of video games here to secure their business permits or else risk their establishments being padlocked in subsequent inspection.

The warning was prompted by reports that ‘hataw’ machines are being disguised as legitimate video games by operators.

According to Fama, video games were being interchanged with the illegal ‘hataw’ gambling machines in violation of the terms of the operator’s business permits.

“My office will not tolerate any form of illegal gambling, may it be ‘hataw’, ‘ameneng’ and the like, and even illegal jueteng, he said.

In his speech shortly after taking over command of the Malasiqui Police Station, Fama said that his office will focus on the campaign against illegal drugs, cattle rustling and all forms of illegal gambling.

He warned jueteng operators and even ‘kubradores’ and ‘cabos’ that they will not be spared from the campaign. – A.P.E.
