ROLL out the carpet, sound the trumpets! Make way for the oldest living “Miss Dagupan”!

Miss Dagupan Luisa Legaspi Maramba, will turn 100 years old on August 25 this year.

She was chosen Miss Dagupan in 1930 when she was 24 years old.

“Metring”, as she is fondly called by her friends and relatives, is the daughter of the late Esteban Maramba of Bonuan and Elena Legaspi, also of Dagupan, and widow of Engr. Jose Torio Parayno of Calasiao.

She is the niece of another “Miss Dagupan”, namely, Feliza Legaspi-Guadiz, wife of the late Dagupan City Mayor Teofilo Guadiz Sr.Maramba.

She will be honored by her daughter Purita, along with her husband, Dr. Delfin Biglete and children, who will arrive from the United States for the occasion.

The celebration will be held at Ruperto’s Resort, owned by the Legaspis located at Binalonan, on Aug. 26.

This is expected to be a big reunion of the Legaspi clan and their relatives, including the Marambas, Cornels, Guadizes, Paraynos and the Cruzes, etc.

Metring is a retired public school music teacher of the Dagupan Elementary School and she managed the Parayno Grocery of Calasiao until she opted to retire in the 1980s.
