TransCo bags new world recognition
SAN FERNANDO CITY–The National Transmission Corporation-Northern Luzon Operations and Maintenance (Transco-NLOM) Group earned another citation for complying with the international standards under the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Its new award consists of the quality management system (ISO 9001:2000), environmental management system (ISO 14001:2004) and occupational health and safety assessment (OHSAS 18001: 1999).
The group’s ISO 9001:2000 seal of excellence for quality management system was awarded April last year and this was integrated with the two other standards to form a more comprehensive management system.
The awarding was held June 28 at the North Luzon Regional Office at Poro Point in San Fernando City, La Union, attended by TransCo president Dr. Alan Ortiz, Vice President for Luzon Operations and Maintenance Guillermo Redoblado, TransCo Senior Consultant Roque Corpuz and San Fernando City Vice Mayor Bernardo Valerio Jr.
Independent certifying body Certification International Philippines conducted the IMS Certification Audit.
Dr. Ortiz said the certification reflects the organization’s commitment to both quality of service, environmental and employee safety concerns.
“Being recognized for three international standards is really a great honor for TransCo. Enhancing our system to meet customer’s needs and expectations is never-ending process which we conscientiously follow,” he added.
Ortiz said that North Luzon has led the way for other regions to follow.
