Pacquiao won but fan died
AGUILAR- Warning! Watching Manny “Pacman” Paquiao fight can be hazardous to your health.
But this warning came too late Danny Tiangson, 53, of barangay Pogonsili who died even before Pacquiao could be proclaimed the winner by a unanimous
decision.According to the victim’s relatives, Tiangson, a certified Pacquiao fanatic, said he was watching his idol’s fight on television last July 2 when he suffered a stroke.
They recalled that Tiangson was so affected and began having difficulty breathing when Pacquiao was being pummeled and pushed to the ropes by Oscar Larios in the third round.
His wife, Virgie, promptly gave him medicine and he continued watching the fight.
When Pacquiao started giving Larios his due in the succeeding rounds, Tiangson got so excited until he could hardly breathe again and his face turned blue.
He was rushed to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival and never found out how his idol fared in the end.
During his wake, mourners and sympathizers could only shake their head in disbelief.
Jenny Limliman, a distant relative, said Tiangson never missed to watch all of Pacquiao’s fights. – EVA
