MANGALDAN – The police expressed confidence that the gang responsible for the series of theft of motorcycles and motorized tricycles will fall shortly.

Supt.  Segundino Adaliga, chief of police here, predicted that the group headed by a certain Alvin Fernandez (not the vice mayor of Dagupan City) will be broken and all its members arrested.

Adaliga said Fernandez, a resident of barangay Maasin, had confessed to having stolen the motorcycle caught in his possession.

As of last week, five theft cases involving motorcycles have been recorded by the police station, three of which motorized tricycles.

The latest incident occurred last Monday when the PNP precinct based in Bolosan, Dagupan City intercepted and recovered a stolen motorcycle. It was being towed by the suspect when the flash alert was issued.

Adaliga said suspect admitted he had accomplices in stealing the motorcycle and this was immediately confirmed by the intelligence community.

A raid was immediately conducted by the police at a suspected safehouse of the group in San Fabian but yielded negative results. – APE
