TAYUG – The grievance committee of the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital will hear the complaint of a man who alleged that his sick wife was not attended to immediately by a doctor in the hospital and that worse, a nurse even insulted the patient.–

Dr. Jovencio Tumbaga, chief of EPDH, said the result of the investigation of the committee on Dr. Josephine Guiang and a still unidentified nurse would be basis of the recommendation that he will submit to Gov. Victor Agbayani.

Dr. Guiang was accused by the complainant of negligence for failing to attend to his wife promptly and that she was attended to only the following morning despite the fact that her wife was already bleeding profusely when brought to the hospital.

Guiang reportedly initially said she was already exhausted to treat anyone when the case was referred to her.

Meanwhile, the nurse, whose name was not immediately known, allegedly took his wife to task for failing to clean herself before she was brought to the hospital.

“Hindi ka man lang naglinis ng katawan bago ka pumunta sa hospital,” the nurse reportedly complained.

Defending Dr. Guiang, Tumbaga said doctors are also human beings and also get tired. He said Dr. Guiang performed three operations that day and those may have sapped her strength.

Nonetheless, Tumabaga assured the complainant that his complaint will be given due course. – APE
