Some municipal officials of Macabebe, Pampanga led by Mayor Leonardo Flores visited Dagupan City on May 10 for a Lakbay-Aral tour to benchmark the city’s aquaculture industry as well as its fishery production and other marine products.

Mayor Lim shared with the visitors his insights on the fishery code of Dagupan which he said aims not only to earn additional revenues for the city but basically to care for the river system.

According to Flores, he decided on the trip to Dagupan after hearing a positive feedback from Sasmuan, Pampanga Mayor Catalina Bagasina who visited the city earlier with her own constituents last January 25.

He said that his administration plans to adopt the aquaculture programs of the city in their coastal town.

“We are very thankful that you appreciate all our efforts in managing our resources and for making us your own model. Dagupan City is very wiling to help you,” said Lim.

Macabebe town is a producer of export-quality cultured crabs and prawns.

Lim also expressed interest to learn about their hatchery technology to enhance the culture of crabs in the city on a large-scale production.
