Local BIR district breaks tax collection record
CALASIAO—The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) district office here achieved a “record breaking collection history” by exceeding its target goal by about P143.9 million!
Joseph Catapia, revenue district officer, said that his district which covers two cities and 14 towns in the province, has been a consistent goal achiever for the entire 2005 but the latest collection was unprecedented.
In 2005, his office’s P895.9 million collection exceeded the P751.9 million or 19% increase. In 2004, their total collections were P673,329,511.83.
In the first quarter of 2006, the P78 million January target was topped P86 million; the P58 million February target was covered by a P62.9 million collection; while P65.4 million was collected past the P64.3 million target in March.
Catapia thanked the cooperation of the taxpayers under his district, the media for their help in tax information campaign and the industry of his employees.–EVA
