Chip Chip Velasco feted by friends
YOUSSEF B. Velasco, 22, son of journalist and Mrs. Jun Velasco (nee Prof. Catherine Bernardo-Velasco), was feted by friends at Max Restaurant along Katipunan Road in Quezon City after the college graduation rites at the University of the Philippines Diliman where he finished Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration last Saturday, April 22.
Youssef, better known as Chip Chip by friends, was his college’s (National College for Public Administration and Governance) representative to the UP Student Council, where he was managing editor of The Oblation, supreme council official newspaper.
He now works with the media relations group and political and constituency affairs group in the office of Senator Edgardo Angara.
Founder and head of the NCPAG Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, he was managing editor of Servicio, official publication of the NCPAG Student Council, and Kratos, UP NCPAG yearbook.
The young Velasco is a researcher for the Center for Local and Regional Governance for NCPAG; trainee of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), convenor, Bukas Aurora, a youth movement in Aurora, Quezon; Head, “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps”.
Chip Chip had been an honor graduate of the Francisco Q. Duque Special Science High School and Mother Goose Elementary School.
