Beware of the month of fire!
The month-long Fire Prevention Month campaign has been launched last Wednesday with the theme “Mamamayan Sama-sama Laban sa Sunog.”
SFO1 Virgilio Mamitag, Provincial Officer 1 of the Bureau of Fire Protection, enjoined the public to take the necessary steps to prevent fires in their respective areas.
Extra-precaution is needed because March is the hottest month of the year, Mamitag said.
Warning that fires can cause death and lead to destruction of properties in just a wink of an eye, Mamitag urged the public to dispose of combustible materials that easily catches fire.
“Negligence on the part of any body can easily ignite a fire,” Mamitag said.
Mamitag also advised parents to keep matches and lighters out of reach of children. – APE
