Joyland principal named ‘Gintong Ilawan’ awardee

MS. Rebecca Kathleen S. Vidal, Director/Principal of the Joyland School in San Fabian, bested contenders for the Gintong Ilawan Teodora Alonso Educator’s Award to become one of only two Region I nominee awardees in the national search for the outstanding female elementary school principals.

 

The Gintong Ilawan Teodora Alonso Educators Award was conceived by Avon Philippines and the Department of Education to recognize deserving educators and give honor to the country’s Ten Outstanding Female Principals. On its 17th year, the current search was opened to all female principals in the private elementary levels.

 

Also the founding director of Joyland School, Ms. Vidal has been the elementary school principal of the Joyland School for the past 21 years. She was previously a Pre-school, Head Teacher at the same time music teacher at the Mother Goose Playskool in Dagupan City from 1978-1982. Her teaching stint was further enhanced as Pre-school English Teacher and Supervisor at the Pangasinan Universal Institute (PUI) in Dagupan City from 1982 to 1984.

 

Ms. Vidal, together with another Region I qualifier Mrs. Loreta I. Cepriaso of BHC Educational Institution San Fernando City, will compete in the National Selection and Final Judging on April 15, 2006.
