MANGALDAN – The chief of the municipal fire station here was finally relieved of his post.

Municipal Fire Marshal SF02 Jesus Asto was ordered to pack up by the BFP Provincial Office after finding the complaints of his subordinates valid.

He was succeeded by SF04 Bernardo Aguado.

The protesting firemen led by SFO2 Lito Ramos initially sent their petition to Mayor Herminio Romero, copy-furnished the BFP Provincial and regional offices.

Asto was accused by his subordinates of lack of leadership and lack of personal discipline, citing among others his habitual presence in the cockpit arena even during office hours and failure to assign logistics to his duly designated logistics officer.

He was also accused of bringing home office properties, like curtains, and for being arrogant when drunk. – APE
