Making a big difference
The Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation celebrated its 48th Foundation Anniversary last February 13-17, 2006.
This year’s theme – VMUF: Making a Big Difference Yesterday, Today and Beyond accurately describes where we have been and where we shall be with in our journey together with the students on their way to the portals of fame and success.
Despite the bleak situation and uncertainties of what the future may bring, especially to our children, VMUF is committed to make a difference in the life of everyone who believes in its vision and mission.
Through the years, this commitment has been tested… for 48 years it never fails to make a difference in the life of people, molding the dreams of our youth.
The university produced outstanding graduates who are now occupying prominent positions in the government and in the society.
VMUF believes in a brighter tomorrow by shaping a better future for our children. The university takes pride in offering quality education that is beyond compare.
Recently, the University of Hawaii—Kapi’olani Community College has chosen VMUF to be a partner in Nursing Exchange Program. The choice was based from the high performance rating of VMUF in the last 5 years of nursing board examinations.
In the December 13, 2004 issue of Philippine Star it was published that Virgen Milagrosa University was among those in category A or those institutions with the highest number of accredited programs. Such schools were awarded during the 31st Anniversary and Annual General Assembly of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities – Commission onAccreditation (PACU-COA).
Today, VMUF has the following accredited programs: Level I Status – Master in Public Health, Master of Science in Teaching, and Doctor of Dental Medicine: Level II Status- BS Biology, BS Psychology, AB Political Science, Bachelor in Elementary Education and Bachelor in Secondary Education. Level II Status 2nd Reaccreditation – BS Nursing.
VMUF was the first Dental School in the Philippines accredited Level I status by PACU-COA and the only school of nursing in Pangasinan accredited with Level II status. The Virgen Milagrosa Veterinary Hospital – is Region I’s only accredited Veterinary Hospital and certified by the Philippine Animal Hospital Association (PAHA).
