FRESH VEGGIES FOR FEEDING PROGRAM

IN her recent visit to Barangay Bacayao Sur for her #GoodbyeGutom ZERO Hunger in Dagupan Feeding Project, Mayor Belen Fernandez cited the possibility and potential of the

Gulayan sa Barangay as an added source for the feeding program for the children.

She said tests will be made how lettuce and Chinese pechay can be prepared to suit the tastes of children.

She added that programs for food accessibility and sustainability will be pursued in the city to support United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

MAYOR Belen Fernandez’s commitment to pursue UN’s  Sustainable Development Goal 2: ZERO HUNGER is already seeing visible results by promoting the significance of

“food accessibility” by delivering highly nutrient foods to families in the barangays.

She met with the families in Sitio Korea at Sitio China in Bonuan Binloc when she brought food packages that consisted of  Chicken Tinola by the City Nutrition Office and goodies from Bonakid 3+, Lucky Me Noodles, Enfamil and Enfamama A+, San Mig Instant Coffee and Safeguard Family Germ Protection.

After the distribution, she took the opportunity during her visit to explain her administration’s support for the 17 interconnected goals of the United Nations (UN)  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and cited the huge support from commercial sponsors for the city government’s  program to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030. MORE FOOD ITEMS FOR 120-DAY SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING FROM DSWD

ON October 17, Mayor Belen Fernandez, officers of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and Child Development Workers received more food items from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the 120-day Supplementary Feeding Program for the Child Development Centers (CDC) or 2,000 day care pupils in 46 day care centers.

Among the new items received were micronutrient powder mix, high calorie and protein biscuit, honey-coated brown rice crisp bar and choco-flavor brown rice crisp bar in addition to the perishable and non-perishable fortified foods prepared by the DSWD in Dagupan. (Dagupan CIO News)
