Sufficient maintenance medications for Dagupan’s elderly assured

THE senior citizens in Dagupan City have been assured for adequate supply of maintenance medications and other health-related programs by the city government .

These were among the topics discussed during Mayor Belen Fernandez’s meeting with officers of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and the barangay senior citizen’s association (BASCA) on September 9, 2022 at the city mayor’s office.

The mayor said funds from the Department of Health (DOH) are expected for the procurement of prescription medicines for senior citizens, vitamins for children as well as other medications for elderly with co-morbidities.

She assured them that she will not allow a shortage of such vital medicines for the treatment of hypertension, diabetes and other diseases.

Other Unliserbisyo health programs that senior citizens can benefit from are the 24-hour operation of the City Health Office (CHO), opening of a CHO satellite extension in Bonuan Gueset for One Bonuan (Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Binloc and Bonuan Boquig) residents and the establishment of a Super Family Health Center in Bolosan for eastern barangay residents.

Doctors and nurses will be available to provide medical attention to patients in all the facilities.

The PhilHealth’s KonSulTa program that aims to cater to the preventive care of 50,000 target beneficiaries will provide access to quality care for all Filipinos as part of the implementation of the DOH’s Universal Health Care. (Dagupan CIO News)
