Senior Citizens receive first payout

SOCIAL PENSION PROGRAM

THE first of three scheduled payout of the Cash Card Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) under the Social Pension (SOCPEN) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was distributed to 1,759 senior citizens on August 13.

Mayor Belen Fernandez and officers of the Landbank of the Philippines led the release of SOCPEN payout for senior citizens from barangays Pantal (326), Bonuan Boquig (239), Tapuac (112), Lucao (262), Lasip Chico (85), Lasip Grande (121), Pogo Chico (185), Pogo Grande (78), Poblacion Oeste (142), Barangay II & III (131), Barangay IV (49) and Barangay I (29).

Another payout release is slated on August 20 and 27.

The beneficiaries also received free medical consultation from the City Health Office and oatmeal snacks from the City Nutrition Office.

Registration forms for the PhilHealth’s KonSulTa (Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama) program were also distributed as part of Mayor Fernandez’s campaign to enroll some 50,000 target beneficiaries to avail of preventive care services under the Universal Health Care law.

Mayor Fernandez acknowledged the support of DSWD Region 1 thru Secretary Erwin Tulfo, LandBank, City Health Office led by Dr. Ophelia Rivera, Office of Senior Citizens Affairs led by Zenaida Sinlao, Konsulta led by Marnel Fernandez and Shierna Santos, City Nutrition Office led by Mariel Visperas, and the BEYOND group led by Prince Macob and JP Casaclang.
