Dagupan Diagnostic Center partially opens
THE Dagupan Diagnostic Center was partially opened on Tuesday, July 19, and began giving free X-ray, Ultra Sound and ECG monitoring services to indigent DagupeƱos for free.
Mayor Belen Fernandez allowed the partial opening of the diagnostic center while its permit to operate is still being processed by the Department of Health (DOH).
Another diagnostic equipment still not in use is the modern Computed Tomography Scan (CT Scan for short) as the technicians that will handle this equipment are still being trained.
Dr. Ophelia Rivera, city health officer, said the CT Scan, as well as the blood testing laboratory are expected to be operational by October this year.
According to Rivera, the ultra sound machine can already initially serve 20 patients a day but only on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Mayor Fernandez said these diagnostic services, which can be availed of free by indigent Dagupenos, is a prelude to the opening the City Health Emergency Center for 24/7 operations. (Leonardo Micua)
