3 cities, 31 towns in DILG’S child-friendly list
OUT of 315 qualifying Local Government Units (LGUs) for the Seal of Child Friendly Local Governance (SFLG) nationwide, 34 LGUs in Pangasinan made it to the list as Child-Friendly Local Government Audit (CFLGA) and are among the 84 LGUs in Region 1 that passed the audit.
Based on the results shown by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on June 8, these are the CLFGA passers from the province of Pangasinan: Alaminos City; Alcala; Anda; Asingan; Balungao; Basista; Bautista; Bayambang; Binalonan; Bolinao; Bugallon; Calasiao; Dagupan City; Infanta; Labrador; Laoac; Lingayen; Mabini; Malasiqui; Manaoag; Mangaldan; Mangatarem; Natividad; Pozorrubio; Rosales; San Carlos City; San Fabian; San Quintin; Santa Maria; Sison; Tayug; Umingan; Urbiztondo; and Villasis.
CFLGA is an annual evaluation of LGUs’s effectiveness in implementing child-friendly programs and services that aim at promoting and improving children’s welfare. It assesses the cities’ and municipalities’ services that positively impact children.
The criteria for CFLGA covers governance and was based on four indicators and children’s core rights such as survival, development, protection, and participation.
Additionally, pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2014-80, the findings of the audit are significant to the LGU’s pursuit of the Seal for Good Local Governance (SCFLG), which is given to cities and municipalities that meet all of the audit system’s criteria after an evaluation of their performance in implementing child-friendly programs.
The 2019 SCFLG Award for regional passers will be awarded this November during the National Children’s Month 2022. (Vjnhyl Pondivida)
